  1. I would buy the pre-made stuff because lavender oil can be super strong.I used to use it for insomnia and it would knock me out for a long time and then I always woke up groggy and sleepy. You don't want the baby to sleep through feedinds and be groggy etc during. The pre-made stuff is like 2.99

My son always gets a bedtime massage with this :

And he has his bath with this:

They seem to work well.He gets his massage, his bath and a warm bottle and he is out for at least 5 hours.

Also, some people get bad skin reactions from pure oils.

  2. I really wouldn't use the oil itself.
Johnson and Johnson makes a baby wash that is supposed to smell like lavender and soothe your baby to get ready to go to sleep. It comes in a purple bottle.
I'd use a product designed for babies as opposed to something that's not.

  3. First, I would do some research or ask the pediatrician to make sure that this would be safe (and if so, at what amount). Essential oils are highly concentrated and should be used with care. If you find out that it is safe to use, you can get the 'NOW' brand from iherb.com. If you've never ordered from this website before, you can use this coupon code:
    LID723
to get $5.00 off. Shipping is $4.00 and the organic lavender oil is currently priced at $11.32.
