Are you talking about melaluca? They make a triple antibiotic cream that works well on burns. The problem with burns is the skin is destroyed on the top layers of the body. That exposes you to unwanted bacteria. Then you can get an infection that causes swelling. Another remedy for burns is make a poltice of charcoal. It naturally removes the bacteria allowing the skin to heal quickly.

for sun burns, use walgrens after sun lotion. it has tea tree oil in it and it works like magic.
for other burns, just apply the tea tree oil directly to the wound.

Hello,

Are the burns fresh, meaning did they just occur and what degree are the burns? I have a friend who burnt his face with Kerosene and he didn't use tea tree oil, but he used mangosteen juice. The results were amazing within one week. He should be scarred for life, but his skin is beautiful. He put it on three times per day on a cheese cloth. He used the best mangosteen juice available and he was thankful that he did.

If you have a second degree, you may not want to use tea tree. If it's stinging as you apply it, it might be second degree.

Anywho, I would use some aloe gel as a base for it. Maybe a quarter-sized dollop with 3-5 drops of tea tree essential oil in it. If you don't have that cocoa or shea butters work wonders.
Any of these you apply several times a day on an "as needed" basis -- so maybe 6-8 times per 24 hours.

Better yet, get your hands on something with calendula or marigold in it, these actually soothe the burn and promote healing. Tea tree is better than nothing, but it's really more for keeping infections out. It acts as an astringent and disinfectant. You may not want to "dry out" a burn.

In a dream world, you'd get a shea butter cream with calendula in it. Good luck and great speed to your healing.

best way is to dilute it in a carrier of some sort, use a pressed oil. Sweet Almond oil would be good.

Dilute it to say 5%

Also, for the sharp pain, this is rather unorthadox, but Jasmine Absolute duluted to say 1% really does help.

Use essential tea tree oil (the concentrated one that comes in small bottles) and put it directly onto the burn. Use it as much as needed - it won't do any harm. It's the best thing to use when you get burnt, and it will lessen the chances of having a scar

Lavender is actually better for burns. I hope you are not applying it neat (straight). Essential oils are very potent and should be diluted for use. 1 drop of oil to 10 drops of a carrier is the strongest I will use. A good carrier for burns is aloe or water. You can premix a solution and keep it in the fridge. I use distilled water and keep it in a spray bottle, works great.
As far as tea tree oil goes, its antiseptic, antibacterial and anti fungal; meaning its a great disinfectant. I use it in a natural antiseptic ointment I make. I also mix it with a bit of lemon essential oil and some bergamot oil and use it as a disinfectant and household cleaner.
