  1. Nope, there’s no difference — at least not if the people selling the products are labeling them properly. "Manuka" and "tea tree" are both common names for the plant Leptospermum scoparium, a shrub or small tree in the family Myrtaceae. It’s native to New Zealand and fairly famous for its honey’s antibacterial properties. (Tough little thing, too — it grows in geothermal areas where precious little else can take the hot, sulfurous soil.)

    I can’t think why the two types of oil would differ in potency, unless one is more concentrated than the other. Check the ingredients.
