I bought some of the glade flameless candles..they look pretty and also scent just like you are burning a candle. The cinnamon scented refill is nice. It lasts about a month before you have to replace the refill.

I have a friend on the fire department that said to avoid any plug in fragerance units because they are quickly becoming one of the leading cause of fires. A good tip that will last a very very long time is to put vanilla into your paint when painting a room and the scent will be in your house for years to come. Other than that your best bet would be to use an odor eliminator because covering an odor with a spray still draws attention to the fact that the odor existed and may cause people to question the cleanliness

Artificial fragances are some of the most harmful chemicals we use in our homes. children who live in homes who use air freshners suffer many many more asthma attacks. In addition, many of the chemicals are known gender benders so its not wise to use them if you have little boys. Don’t pollute your home environment. To fragrance your home use only essential oils, pomander, pot pourri and fresh air. To remove odours from the bathroom after toilet use - striking a match will get rid of the smell immediately.

Bath and Body Works has "Wallflowers" which are really great smelling. Plus you can sniff around the store to figure out what scent you like, you can get anything from fruits to flower smelling ones to even perfume-y type smelling ones.
Honestly they work really well.
(And if you’re listening to the people who say it’s bad because of…. whatever. There are fragrant oils that you can use a tea light to heat that work equally as well, only you have to watch them to see when the oil runs out. It’s an easier way to monitor how much scent you have.)
