  1. No harm, but don’t smell too much at the same time otherwise you can be away with the fairies…

  5. Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids that can be harmful if not used carefully. Implementing aromatherapy into your lifestyle shouldn’t cause paranoia or undue worry. By treating essential oils as medicines and following the steps outlined below, you will be well on your way to safely enjoying the many benefits that aromatherapy can offer

But the smell is natural so…

  11. I think we could have used a little more information here.

WHICH essential oils makes all the difference in the world. Plus, any medical conditions or special circumstances.

If you are truly "obsessed" with smelling something, you may be abusing the product, which will have consequences.

There are many essential oils and they are NOT HARMLESS, especially in excess. They are MEDICINES and should be treated as such.

Some are specifically dangerous if you have certain medical conditions. For example, Rosemary, Hyssop, Sage & Thyme can aggravate high blood pressure. Juniper is contraindicated in kidney disease.

There is a whole LIST of oils to avoid during pregnancy. Some of the more common ones are: Basil, Cinnamon, Cedar. Nutmeg is especially potent and can be borderline addictive.

On the other hand, if by "obsessed" you mean they make you feel good and you sniff them 5 or 6 times a day and the oils you are talking about are Orange or Lavender or Rose, you are simply enjoying one of the pleasant side effects of concentrated scents.

I recommend you get a written guide to essential oil use, and refer to it before purchasing or using your oils. Don’t rely only on the advice of a massage therapist because I’ve seen them make serious mistakes.
