  1. I dont like low quality essential oils scent and even worse are the essential oils from dollar shops with are synthetic and arn’t really essential oils.If your using then that might be why people are offended.
Even if your using high quality one there are certain scents that arnt universally appealing like i dont really like patchouli even if its high quality.
The ones that people might dislike and have an aversion to i feel would be more of the "earthy" or deep or how ever you would describe them-scents like patchouli, frankincense, ylang ylang, sandalwood, rosewood, maybe cedarwood although some might like that i personally do.
If your mixing all these type together too then that might smell pretty bad and people might think whats that weird smell.Blending essential oils is a skill like cooking where things that dont go together shouldn’t be all thrown in together. There are so many companies or shops where if youve bought one from they’ve thrown in all these uncomplimentary smells in together like it will have rosewood, patchouli, orange, bergamot, sandalwood, and ylang ylang for example and to me they stink to be honest.

Jasmine smells beautiful and really shouldn’t offend. Also other ones you might want to try are orange blossom water-it smells beautiful and is really cheap and can be purchased where you buy spices etc for cooking, blue lotus flower oil-it smells so weird, theres nothing like it but its really lovely smell, rose absolute, rose damascena is ok too, frangipani(very expensive),.
Also ones like pinkgrapefruit, orange, lime, mandarine are citrusy and shouldn’t really offend although maybe someone could get a headache if they are sensitive.
Like perfumes, individuals like different scents but some essential oils might be more likely to be disliked by many then others.

  2. people can be sensitive to scents. i can,t stand sandalwood. too much of any scent can be annoying. my sister is allergic to many perfumes that contain artificial scents. it,s been an issue where she works.

  3. this is a question that cannot be answered. There are at least a hundred essentials oil sold commercially. They can be mixed any number of them together and at almost any percentages for each making maybe a million different smells. AND everyone is different. How can anyone know if most people dislike the smells ?

  4. Most people dont like most of them….

I worked in a whole foods in that section of the store for 10 years almost, and almost everyt single time someone was new to them and I would give them a bottle to smell…they either didn’t like the scent, it was way too strong, etc, etc…

Oshadhi make fines ones….I have a shoebox of them. They aren’t made any more - covety them :)
