It really depends on the fragrance oil… if it’s a higher quality fragrance oil, there should be no problems. If it’s really cheap, just make sure the ingredients are skin-safe… some cheap fragrance oils are cut with, basically, lighter fluid.
If, however, your blend is skin-safe and you haven’t had any problems with it this far, there is no need to switch blends. On a personal level, I recommend pure essential oils.. but they’re not a necessary.

Fragrance oil may leave a sticky residue, it is totally different from essential oil and I wouldn’t risk it.
