  1. No it won’t kill the eggs, over the counter medicines don’t either. What you have to do is wait about a week and apply the tea tree oil again, that way when these eggs hatch you kill them before they lay eggs. I had to wait every week and I did it about three times.

I also made sure to check my hair with a comb to get some nits out.

good luck! I just got rid of mine!

  6. lice dont like the tea tree oil.
it doesnt kill them though. it HELPS get rid of them,
and keep them away. it doesnt kill them. you probably just dont see them.

my ma puts it in our shampoos =]
its pretty expensive to buy the
    tree oil.
like 12 bucks for a small bottle.
    if you have lice,
there is spray that you can spray your house that kills them.
you will want to vacuum your whole house a couple times. and wash all your bed sheets and dry them on high.
and stuff you put in your hair that kills them.
you might want to do a couple treatments.
you can find the stuff at meijers or walgreens. places like that. the shampoos usually come with a lice comb too =]

there is stuff you can aget at the doc that works better.
but if you dont feel like paying a bunch of money get this stuff =]

and dont for get to treat EVERYONE in your house.

tea tree oil does help though =]
i recommend putting it in your shampoo.
i personally love the smell of it too.

and dont forget to boil your hair brushes, so it kills all the lice and their eggs.
if there are eggs, there are lice. put pillows in plastic bags [[stuffed animals too]], and freeze them for 48 hours [[i recommed putting them in the dryer on high though]].

    best answer?

  11. i speak from experience:

the best thing to do is to shave a tiny circle of hair off just above where your shirt collar might sit, and then apply the oil there. a face cream will have the same effect, as will foundation and the like.

  12. Here is something that may help you out. Get a spray bottle and put rubbing achochol in it spray your hair down so its all wet. Useing a lice comb comb threw your hair untill it is all dry and this will kill the eggs and bugs in your hair. Plus youer hair will be so shiny. good luck

  13. Call your family doctor and get the prescription strength lice shampoo, just becareful when using it. But it does work much better than the store bought stuff. you also need to make sure that you clean your house very well and wash everything, or you will just keep infesting yourself. Put your pillows in plastic garbage bags for 48 hours and then wash them, same with stuffed animals and things like that. Soak your brushes in amonia water and get the furniture spray. I hope this helps!! :) Good Luck

  14. No tea tree oil is used as a preventative. What works awesome is lather the hair with real mayo (not miracle whip) rub it down to the scalp…it takes quite a bit of mayo. Let sit for a long time (maybe an hour) that will suffocate the eggs and any live lice. May want to do twice to make sure. But this is something my family has always done and was successful. Also it will make the hair soft and shiny.

  15. I know this might sound weird and all and gross but it helps. Mayonnaise help kill lice. i had lice back when i was a teenagers and we had to put mayonnaise in my hair and it killed it all.

But the smell of mayonnaise will be stuck in your hair for a little bit but it works. or you can try i think it is call nix not sure but it helps with eggs and lice.

  16. Tea Tree Oil will not kill the eggs.

You need a lice comb to remove the eggs and you need to wash all your bed linen in hot water and dry in the dryer after you shampoo your hair.

    Comment by Apples to Apples — August 27, 2009 @ 2:14 am

  17. No, if you have an infestation of hair lice, the best way to go is to get a spray for this purpose from your pharmacy.
Use as directed, being careful to remove all the "nits" (lice eggs) which adhere to your hair. The product you purchase should contain a special fine-toothed comb for this purpose.
You may need to repeat this after 3 days - but make sure you keep to the instructions and get rid of all the nits.
Spray your hair brushes and combs as well and change your bed-linen.
