these are just a few things I have tried over the years for my cold sores.
Toothpaste overnight, seems to work well.
Placing icecube in hanky on to coldsore, works well in early stages.
Metholated spirits or nail polish remover, dabbed with cotton wool.

if you have any aftershave or deodorant, that works just as well as any cream for me, it’ll sting for a few seconds but that’s how you know its working.

You poor thing. I doubt shampoo will make it better even if it’s tee tree oil because it will be mostly soap with a tiny bit of tee tree oil, if any. Plus there will be all sorts of other chemicals.
You ‘re not supposed to mess about with cold sores really - as I’m sure you know - but what about a bit of salt water?
I also found a link with home remedies for cold sores - use with caution!

what i do that works the best is putting one ice cube on the cold sore and it help lots and it doesn’t like the cold and it stops it from growing the ice feels sooo good on the sore when it burning and itching there you go that all i do it’s works good for me ,, your welcome
