  4. yes it should be fine I put them in my all the time and have been doing so for about 8 years I also put them in my vaporise it works really well. A diffuser is good also they were made for just that but are quite expensive I have not yet gotten the money to get one but my mom does have one and uses it daily. They run anywhere from 6$60.00 to $150.00 the best kind is young livings that is what she uses but I use my humidifier and vaporizer.

  5. The essential oils will ultimately destroy the plastic parts they come into contact with. Essential oils in the reservoir of the humidifier will make a mess and be difficult to clean. Not really a good idea. If you want to disperse essential oils into the air, you are better off using a diffusor or a duftlamp. These are intended for essential oil and use moving air to disperse the oil, heat and water in the case of the duftlamp. They can vary in price quite a bit. If you are not in a position to spend any money, you can put a few drops of essential oil in a glass or glazed ceramic bowl and pour boiling water into the bowl. As steam leaves the surface of the water, essential oil will be dispersed into the air.
